Work-in-Progress Series – Documenting Citizenship: Gendered Impacts of the National Registry of Citizens in India

On Tuesday, May 4, the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights at Harvard University will host the next event in its Work-in-Progress Series. During this event, Roshni Chakraborty will present “Documenting Citizenship: Gendered Impacts of the National Registry of Citizens in India.” Professor Jacqueline Bhabha, the FXB Center’s Director of Research, will provide introductory remarks.

Roshni Chakraborty is a junior at Harvard College studying Social Studies and Global Health. Her research interests include gender-based violence, child protection, and citizenship. Her senior thesis is on the role of social networks (particularly, caste networks) in the facilitation of child trafficking in India. Read her recent work here and here.
