Abhishek Bhatia is a Visiting Scholar and Research Fellow at the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights and the Lakshmi Mittal South Asia Institute at Harvard. His primary focus is the use of information technology to improve healthcare delivery in low-resource settings. He works on Professor Leaning’s Burden of War team at the FXB Center, analyzing (big) clinical data to study the public health impact of the war in Syria, is involved with researching the health needs of displaced Rohingya populations in Bangladesh, and supports Dr. Balsari’s 3T research in South Asia on the combined application of task-shifting, training, and technology in primary care settings. His past work includes applications of mHealth tools in chronic disease management in Mexico, and community-based interventions for maternal and child health and nutrition in India, Nepal, Vietnam, Ecuador and El Salvador. He holds a Master of Science from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Berkeley.
