Veronica Lewin serves as the Harvard FXB Center’s Director of Communications, where she is responsible for implementing strategic internal and external communications plans and coordinating special events.
Veronica has a wealth of experience in public health communications. Prior to joining the FXB Center, Veronica held increasingly responsible communications roles in New York City government, including six years at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
While in the Health Department’s Press Office, Veronica placed positive stories about the agency in a variety of news outlets and organized press conferences to announce Department initiatives. She also informed the public and media about public health emergencies, including the City’s response to Ebola. As Communications Advisor to the Commissioner, Veronica managed the Health Commissioner’s Twitter account, oversaw the development of the Department’s advertising campaigns, and edited publications. She also co-authored the Department’s 2018 Community Health Profiles, which provides New Yorkers with an in-depth look at the health of their community district.
Before working at the Health Department, Veronica was the Deputy Editor at The Queens Tribune. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, cum laude, from the University at Albany.
