Mariane interns with the Roma Program at FXB. She is helping the Roma Program to expand its research into the situation of Roma in Brazil and Latin America. Mariane, a Brazilian attorney holds a Law degree from the Catholic University of Goiás and a post-graduate in Criminal Justice from Federal University of Goiás, both in Brazil. She is currently specializing in Human Rights during her LL.M program at Northeastern University, where she was awarded the Program on Human Rights and the Global Economy (PHRGE) fellowship. Mariane has experience working on immigrants’ rights in US, political prisoners in Venezuela and on various human rights research projects in Brazil. She is also a co-founder of a Brazilian project entitled ‘Sextortion: when the Bribe is sex’.
