On Monday, March 8, the Interdisciplinary Concentration on Women, Gender, and Health (WGH) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health will host its annual International Women’s Day event. This year’s theme is “In A Time of COVID-19: The Ongoing Fight for Health Justice.”

Dr. Nancy Krieger, Chair of WGH, will provide a brief summary of the history of the radical origins of International Women’s Day. Additional speakers include:

  • Sarah Richardson (Harvard/WGS + Hist Sci) – COVID-19 & GenderSci Lab
  • Zinzi Bailey (UMiami + HSPH alum) – Structural racism, COVID-19, prisons, and gender
  • Cris Alonso (HSPH DrPH + WGH) – COVID-19 in Chelsea, MA: Latinx immigrants, essential workers, and gender
