Jeniece L. Brock, MSHS

Jeniece is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree at Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, with a focus on the Political Determinants of Public Health. She is driven by a passion for designing and enacting policies that enhance and safeguard the health and well-being of underserved communities. During her time in the DrPH program, she aims to investigate and evaluate the impact of political systems on inequitable environmental health outcomes within Black communities in the United States. Upon completing this program, she aspires to become an executive leader who works to improve federal systems and policies that influence public health and threaten the well-being of all Americans.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Jeniece serves as a Senior Strategic Partner and Advisor for issue- and candidate-driven campaigns focused on redistricting, voting rights, healthcare, and sustainability, striving to ensure equity in government and electoral systems regardless of geographical or demographic differences. During the 2022 General Election, Jeniece held the roles of Campaign Manager and Finance Director for Ohio’s 13th Congressional District, where she successfully flipped the seat in a competitive race, electing the first woman to represent the district with 52.6% of the vote. As the Senior Policy & Advocacy Director in the state of Ohio, she pioneered Ohio’s first citizen-led redistricting commission, testified in federal court in favor of fair legislative maps and redistricting processes, and led state and federal legislative agendas to address policies disproportionately affecting minorities and underserved communities.
In recognition of her expertise and advocacy, Jeniece received the 2024 Brennan Center for Justice Legacy Award, a national honor for advancing fair representation. She continues to be an active member of the Board and Executive Committee for the Ohio Environmental Council, a Board member for U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown’s Canary Candidate program, an at-large member of the State Executive Committee Finance Committee for the Ohio Democratic Party, and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
