Dr. Pooja Lagisetty

Dr. Lagisetty is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Medicine and also the Center for Clinical Management and Research at the Ann Arbor VA. She is also a practicing primary care physician and teaching hospitalist at the Ann Arbor VA.  Her research focuses on understanding how stigma and bias affects access to care for patients with chronic pain and substance use disorders.  She also develops and evaluates interventions to improve safe opioid prescribing and integrate addiction treatment in general medical settings.  Specifically, she focuses on patients with co-morbid pain and substance use disorders. Her research focuses on expanding access to evidence-based treatments, developing multi-disciplinary models to integrate behavioral health and physical health treatment, and addressing barriers in patient engagement.
