Join the keynote event of the workshop on ‘Adapting to Climate Change in South Asia and West Africa’ organized by the Harvard Climate Research Clusters on the Gulf of Guinea (Climate Adaptation in the Gulf of Guinea) and South Asia (Climate Adaptation in South Asia), in collaboration with the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute, the Stanley Center for Peace and Security, the FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, and the Salata Institute at Harvard University.

Introductory remarks and moderation by Caroline Buckee and Emmanuel Akyeampong.

Prabhu Pingali

Dr. Prabhu Pingali

Dr. Prabhu Pingali is a Professor in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. He is the Founding Director of the Tata-Cornell Institute for Agriculture and Nutrition (TCI). Prior to joining Cornell, he was Deputy Director for the Agricultural Development Division of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from 2008 through May 2013. He has over four decades of experience working with some of the leading international agricultural development organizations as a research economist, development practitioner and senior manager.

Dr. Joseph Onoja

Dr. Joseph Onoja is the Director General of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF). In this role, he oversees and leads the organization’s efforts in various areas of conservation. These activities encompass the conservation of forest landscapes, wildlife species of plants and animals, as well as advocacy efforts related to conservation, climate change, and pollution issues both in Nigeria and internationally. Dr. Onoja serves as a statutory Board Member of the National Forestry Trust Fund (NFTF) and the Nigeria Park Service, and is also a Member of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC).
